Interview with Maximilian in summer 2025

Looking back at last season

Maximilian, what was your highlight of last season?

The highlight of the 2025/26 season was my victory in the CIT race in Turnau.

What goal have you set yourself for the coming season?

My goal is to make it into an Austrian Ski Federation squad. I am already highly motivated in my preparation for the new season and will keep pursuing that goal.

Who is a particularly important source of support for you during the season?

My family, of course. Whether during breaks at home or at the races, where my dad is always there to support me.

About the Ski-Club and its history

How long have you been part of the Ski-Club, and how has your relationship with the club developed over the years?

I think I have been a member of the Ski-Club since 2012. That is where my coaches Andy and Valentina taught me the fundamentals of ski racing. Even today, I am always happy to train with them in St. Anton.

The Ski-Club is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. What does this long tradition mean to you personally?

It is a great feeling to be a member of the oldest ski club in the world, and I would be delighted to achieve successes for the Ski-Club.

Is there a role model from the Ski-Club’s past or present who has particularly inspired you?

Christian Boergnaes in particular inspires me never to give up and to keep believing in my dream.

Do you remember a special anecdote or story from your time with the Ski-Club that will always stay with you?

I particularly remember the eventful summer training camp in Hintertux. We were a fantastic group and had an incredible amount of fun. But I will also never forget the summer training sessions and skiing in varied terrain in winter.

What creates the sense of togetherness in the Ski-Club for you?

The Ski-Club’s sense of togetherness is especially evident at the small and large celebrations that take place alongside the skiing.

If you imagine the Ski-Club another 25 years from now, what do you hope for the future of the club and for the next generation of athletes?

There should continue to be strong training programmes for children and young people so that as many children as possible can experience skiing with good technique and, above all, enjoyment. For racers, I hope there will be excellent training opportunities in St. Anton. Financial support will remain just as important, and I hope that will continue to be available in the future as well.
